Naki Nik Naks 0009 – Asher – February 2026
Asher started as an experiment with leftover 1920's Singer cabinet parts and a broken early 1900's chair. It works, is a solid build and is kinda cute. Made with a talon saw, battery powered drill and sandpaper — no measurements just guesstimates and went with it.
The before
Asher is the remains from several different Singer sewing machine cabinets, circa 1920's and 1930's. Seemed a waste to not use the beautiful wood and components for something so hence Asher was created. The legs were salvaged from a seriously beyond repair antique chair.

The process
Relatively simple, we took the spares and played jigsaw to see what the most feasible combination was. Tracey opted for country style colours balanced against a dark wood stain. The handles brass and marble TEMU bargains.
The whole process didn't see any measurements or real carpentry skills, eyeball_ometer, guesstimates and a bit of good fortune that parts fitted in!
Like we said, an experiment in what we could do and achieve.

The end result
An interesting cutesy little cabinet / bedside table/ arm chair coffee table thing! We like Asher and are sure the new owner will just as much.
