Volunteering in our community (and further afield), as well as being active in charitable causes is important to us.
We’ve done a lot. Amongst our most succesful and favourites some animal rescues like our cat Laila or our puppy rescue (opens in new window) of Kaili and Lucky in Koh Phangan Thailand. Animals have been a constant theme in our lives, and have been a big feature in our work with charity and volunteering.
Heres a few of the charities we are currently actively volunteering for or involved with.
We are absolute foster fails when it comes to the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). We fostered a mother cat and her five new born kittens, strays found by the SPCA under a house. Mum was not neutered, not chipped and likely unvaccinated. We gave back five very health actrive kittens and adopted the mum… See our cat Laila’s story here
We volunteer as gardners with Womens Refuge Aotearoa, keeping gardens at (unfortunately much needed) safehouses tidy.
As a former soldier Taskforce Kiwi allows me to give back to our communities by volunteering to support our communities following disaster or emergency. Taskforce Kiwi is based around veterans, current and former serving defence persons however is open to anyone.
