Wasted in a war zone.
War zones are complex environments where human lives intersect with uncertainty, hardship, exposure to violence, displacement, and a constant threat of danger. People face immense physical and mental strain, the impact can lead to trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Those challenges often negative and detrimental to wellness. But sometimes the challenge is the addiction of the environment, a high with a f&$king buzz better than cocaine.
Memoirs based on the truths of lived lies. The original ‘Part Two’ written in 1997 while leasing a bar in Portugal, taking a year off following a year of humanitarian work in Grozny, Chechnya. The book expanded from those two years to include work in Africa, Russia, East Timor, Kosovo and more working in humanitarian aid, commercial diving and various other roles. It’s also a little “Walter Mitty”, a lot crazy and a story of a highly functioning addict. The good and the inevitable bad.
